The Cisco Catalyst 4506 is a 6-slot switch. It is one of four chassis in the Cisco Cataylst 4500 series, a next-generation platform for intelligent switching. The Catalyst 4500 Series, a primary component of Cisco Service-Oriented Network Architecture (Cisco SONA), extends control to enterprise wiring closets, branch offices, and Layer 3 distribution points.
