The Cisco Catalyst 4510R is a 10-slot, redundant Supervisor Engine capable switch. It is one of four chassis in the Cisco Cataylst 4500 series, a next-generation platform for intelligent switching. The Catalyst 4500 Series, a primary component of Cisco Service-Oriented Network Architecture (Cisco SONA), extends control to enterprise wiring closets, branch offices, and Layer 3 distribution points.

Note: Supervisor engine slots do not support switching line card modules. Line card slots do not support supervisor engines.
