Axis Releases New Palm-Sized Mini Dome M30 IP Cameras

The global market leader in network video, Axis Communications has released the M30 series. This series of indoor surveillance IP cameras are not only intelligent, but rather affordable and less noticeable.

Measuring at only 4″ x 2″, these new IP cameras will fit in the palm of your hand! But do not let the size fool you, these cameras have some pretty useful and powerful features. The Axis M30 series includes the AXIS M3004 with up to HDTV 720p and 1 MP resolution and AXIS M3005 with up to HDTV 1080p.

These indoor fixed mini domes are discreet and suitable for surveillance in retail stores, banks, hotels, schools and offices.

The palm-sized, dust-resistant AXIS M30 cameras are designed for quick and flexible installation, and have new optional colored skins available for the casing to enable the camera to blend in and “camouflage” within the customer’s environment.

Both the AXIS M3004 and AXIS M3005 offer horizontal viewing angles of 80° and 118°, respectively. The cameras’ each have a built-in MicroSDHC card slot which enables several days of HDTV-quality recording to be stored locally. The cameras come pre-focused for the integrator to shorten installation time, and optional lenses are available for different viewing angles.

This series features a unique 3-axis lens, allowing the camera direction and image angle to easily be adjusted. This lens also allows for installers to simply mount the cameras on to walls or ceilings with easy installation. This 3-axis lens enables support for Axis’ Corridor Format, which delivers a vertically oriented video stream to maximize surveillance coverage of corridors, staircases or store aisles.

Each network camera from this series includes a 6’6” network cable and are powered using Power over Ethernet, which eliminates the need for power cables and reduces installation costs.
