Axis Launches Q1602-E Network Camera with Lightfinder Technology.

BY MOLLIE DOBERSEK

Axis Communications, a leader in IP Video Surveillance, Security Cameras and CCTV, recently launched the Q1602-E Network Camera, which is equipped with Axis’ unique Lightfinder technology.

Axis 1256

This Lightfinder technology gives more life-like colors, in low-light conditions whether indoors or outdoors. This technology is found especially useful for users whom require color information in the video to enhance the recognition and identification of objects. For example in construction sites, parking lots and in city surveillance.

In contrast to most conventional day/night cameras that provide a black & white image in the darkness, the new AXIS Q1602 can maintain colors even the darkest of conditions. This enables viewers to make out more successful identification, and this capability greatly enhances the user’s ability to effectively identify people, vehicles and incidents alike.

The camera delivers progressive scan image quality at extended D1 (768×576) resolution, multiple, individually configurable H.264 and Motion JPEG video streams simultaneously. It also has day/night functionality, Digital PTZ, local storage, and easy installation with remote back focus.

This model is also available as an outdoor-ready surveillance camera.  A wall bracket is supplied with the camera package, along with sun-shield to give protection from dust, rain, snow and sun, and allows it to operate in temperatures from -40 °F to 122 °F.

Other features include:

  • Intelligent capabilities such as enhanced video motion detection, audio detection and detection of camera tampering attempts like blocking or spray-painting.
  • Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af), eliminating the need for power cables and reducing installation costs.
  • Two-way audio support with enhanced audio quality.
  • Advanced security and network management features such as HTTPS encryption with preserved performance, IPv6 and Quality of Service.
  • Open Application Programming Interface (API) for software integration, including VAPIX® from Axis Communications.

Observe this comparison study between AXIS Q1602/-E and a leading security camera that customers often refer to as the most light sensitive surveillance camera on the market.
