The Internet of Things (IoT) describes the network of physical objects—“things”—that are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies for the purpose of collecting data. They are internet-connected devices, each having its own IP address. IoT devices are playing a key role, laying the foundation for a smart building. Occupancy sensors, environmental sensors and wearables devices are all examples of IoT devices that can provide a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment.
